Find Me On

A Great Time At The Retreat!

We all had a wonderful time at the retreat! The staff at the historic Boulder Dam Hotel, (in Boulder City, Nevada) took good care of us. The retreat was hosted by Fiddlesticks Quilt shop. Shop owner, Merry Summey, worked hard to make sure all was in place and we had everything we needed. I can’t thank her enough for all her hard work!

A fun group of ladies gathered to create some unique characters in cloth. I hope they took a bit of my enthusiasm home with them and I have inspired them to go on and create more dolls with their own personal stamp on them. We laughed a lot and sewed a lot. Did I mention that we sewed a lot! Whew!

We all enjoyed watching Liz Kellch's doll evolve into quite a character!

Charlotte McDavitt busy creating her own Emily Ann doll.

Peggy Olliges puts her special touches on Phyllis.

Karon Rufenacht creating the Estelle doll with her own unique twist.

Juliana Stratton sewing the Emily Ann rag doll.

Isha Walker gives Abby a whole new identity!

Nadiji Struble busy sewing away!

Deep in concentration, Becky Johnston works on the Estelle pattern.

Merry Summey (at left) helping to pick out fabric for doll bodies when the group visits Fiddlesticks. It's their anniversary this month. Happy Anniversary Fiddlesticks Quilt Shop!

Exhausted - but enjoying myself - here I am signing copies of my new book for the group. I had a blast spending the weekend sewing and laughing with this great bunch of gals!
